The Finance for Non-Financial Managers Program equips professionals from non-financial backgrounds with the financial literacy required to interpret financial information and support sound managerial and strategic decisions.
Through a practical and applied approach, the program integrates financial accounting fundamentals, financial statement analysis and management control, enabling participants to interpret income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, assess business performance and apply financial reasoning to the management of teams, projects and investment decisions, strengthening value creation and long-term sustainability. This approach is supported by:

Professor of Finance at Nova School of Business and Economics. Postdoctoral degree in Finance from Bayes Business School, City University of London and PhD in Finance from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon. His research focuses on investment funds and international investments and has been supported by grants from the Foundation for Science and Technology. His work has been published in leading academic journals such as Review of Finance and Journal of Corporate Finance. He teaches Corporate Finance across undergraduate, postgraduate and executive programs.
Francisco Pinheiro Catalão has a PhD in Management form Universidade Europeia. Since 2013 he teaches several finance related courses, first as a Visiting Teaching Assistant (between 2013 and 2019) and after as a Visiting Teaching Professor. With more than 23 years of professional experience in several financial functions within different multinational organisations, is currently Executive Board Member and CFO at AICEP - Portuguese Trade & Investment Agency. Prior to AICEP he was the Head of Treasury at Novabase/Celfocus. Also worked in various other multinational companies, such as TIMWE, Martifer Group, Ernst & Young, Banco Santander and KPMG, where he served in various audit and corporate finance positions. He is a certified chartered accountant and has experience in supervisory boards. His research interests include Management, Public Procurement and Public Policies. He has 7 papers published in journals with Impact Factor/Scopus.
